Green Cape: Western Cape Industrial Symbiosis (WISP) Facilitator

City: Cape Town

Closing Date: Monday, July 22, 2013

The GreenCape Sector Development Agency would like to appoint a facilitator to deliver on an industrial symbiosis programme - one of a range of activities to develop the green economy in the Western Cape.

GreenCape was established by the Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DED&T) of the Western Cape Government and the City of Cape Town to unlock the manufacturing and employment potential in the green economy in the Western Cape. GreenCape is looking for a skilled graduate, preferably with a postgraduate degree and/or some work experience, to join the Western Cape Industrial Symbiosis Programme (WISP) team. Key areas of expertise required are engineering (preferably, but not limited to chemical/process and industrial engineering) or science (preferably, but not limited to physics, chemistry, applied mathematics and environmental science). Candidates with other backgrounds and relevant industrial experience will also be considered.

The position is available for 9 months initially (1 August 2013 – 31 March 2014), but it is expected that contracts can be renewed subject to performance and the availability of funding for the continuation of WISP or related research. The salary is in the range of R 18 000 to R 20 500 per month depending on the level of experience.
Candidates are to start as soon as available, ideally on 1 August or as soon as possible thereafter.
The deadline for applications is Monday 22 July 2013 at noon.
